Authority

Luke 4:32 "They were amazed at His teaching, because His message had authority."

My biggest problem with everyone is simple: they are just people, so they really don't know. I mean this in situations where people are being arrogant, opinionated, critical - filled with all of the attitudes that are built with one goal in mind: destruction.

That's one of the main reasons why I love and cling to Jesus. His words are true and they have authority. Everyone else is a mere man. Dust. Grass. Vapor. As pompous as they may sound, the fact is: They Really Don't Know. Remember that when you're dealing with them.

Jesus, on the other hand, KNOWS. You can cling to Him, build your life upon Him, listen to Him, obey Him - and know it is all right. He has authority - because He is the author. Everyone else, no matter how right they sound, is mere opinion.
